Bill Meyers is a detective with the Houston Police Department, Criminal Intelligence Division, Houston Regional Intelligence Service Center Fusion Center (HRISC-FC) assigned to the HRISC Port Maritime Industry Intelligence Unit.  In this capacity, Detective Meyers conducts detailed investigations of crimes and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and as an in-house Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston liaison officer. He coordinates with industry partners, state and local law enforcement units, and federal partners to secure the waterways and critical infrastructure within the HRISC-FC Area of Responsibility (AOR).  Detective Meyers directs monthly and ad-hoc law enforcement meetings to coordinate crime, SAR trends, and emerging threats with other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.  These meetings have been recognized as best practice for disseminating maritime intelligence and coordinating efforts.  Detective Meyers is a member of several private industry groups to support and educate security professionals and is a member of the United States Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC) executive board along with several sub committees. Detective Meyers is a United States Army veteran and holds a degree in Finance.
