Patrick Gallagher is the Executive Director of the Marine Exchange of Puget Sound, where he leads efforts to enhance maritime safety, security, and environmental stewardship in the Pacific Northwest. With over two decades of service in the U.S. Coast Guard, Patrick retired as a Commander in 2019, having held key leadership positions including Executive Officer at Station New York and Response Department Head at Sector Honolulu.
In his current role, Patrick collaborates with a diverse range of stakeholders—including the U.S. Coast Guard, port authorities, shipping companies, and environmental organizations—to promote information sharing and best practices across the maritime industry. He serves as Chair of the Puget Sound Harbor Safety Committee and holds positions on several advisory councils and boards, such as the Emergency Response Towing Vessel Compliance Group and the Washington Maritime Federation.
Patrick’s commitment to maritime resilience and sustainability is rooted in his early experiences on the Seattle waterfront and is reflected in his ongoing dedication to advancing the industry’s future.
