Ms. Monica England has been working in the Defense industry since 2003 and in the Public Safety industry since 2012, both specifically in Unmanned Systems, counter Unmanned Systems and Robotics.

During her 22 years’ experience, Ms. England has worked for organizations that have been critical to the growth and development for both defense and commercial unmanned technology such as Northrop Grumman AS, the San Diego Wind Tunnel, Aerial MOB, Planck Aerosystems, 5D Robotics, ESAero, D-Fend Solutions, Ghost Robotics, Onyx Industries, SteelRock Technologies, AMPEX Data Systems and most recently, start-up tech venture, DefendEye.

Ms. England’s family has a long history of aerospace and aviation dating back to the 1940’s. She began her Unmanned Systems career at Northrop Grumman AS in September of 2003, in the Program Office of the Army FCS Class IV UAV Fire Scout (MQ-8). From there, she moved into Production Operations, then onto Strategic Development, Unmanned Systems Strategy Group.

Ms. England was an officer of the San Diego Lindbergh Chapter Board of Directors for AUVSI between 2010 to 2021. Her last role with the board was as the Chapter’s President.

Ms. England was instrumental in the planning stages of the California UAS FAA UAV Test Site Initiative, the Center of Excellence Initiative and other significant events. In 2014, Ms. England was recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation by Senator Joel Anderson for her diligent unmanned systems advocacy in San Diego’s communities.

In 2014, Ms. England was hand selected by the former Dean at the College of Aviation, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University – Prescott, Arizona campus, Dr. Brett Bowen, to be a member on the UAS Industry Advisory Board and has been actively participating as an industry advisor for the university.

Ms. England was the first American female chosen to speak on Global UAV Regulations at the Unmanned Systems Conference and Expo India (USCEI) event in New Delhi, India in November 2014 along with the former Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation Shri G. Ashok Kumar.

Ms. England is a published writer for Robot Magazine and India’s first and only unmanned magazine named, “Unmanned.”

Prior to her working in the Defense and Aerospace Industry, Monica’s career included positions at JP Morgan Chase, the Matsushita Corporation and Maxwell Marine Int’l.

In addition to her unmanned roles and accolades, Monica is passionate about saving lives as well as volunteering and raising funds for non-profit organizations such as the Semper Fi Fund, Wounded Warriors, Vested Interest in K9’s and Wounded Eagle UAS.
