Brandon Chapman is the Security and Emergency Management Specialist for the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District; he oversees all security operations and emergency planning/response for the Bridge, Bus, and Ferry Division’s. The District is the only agency to operate/maintain a Bridge in the state outside of CalTrans which has been in operation since 1937 and sees traffic of over 15 million vehicles; the District operates 7 ferry vessels from San Francisco to Marin County on 5 regular service routes plus 2 special event routes carrying over 1.5 millions passenger annually; Bus operations run from Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, and Contra Costa Counties carrying 2 million passengers. Brandon has over a decade of experience in maritime security and emergency management working in the public and private industries including APM Terminals, Pasha Hawaii, Port of San Francisco, City of Dallas, and Pacific, Gas, and Electric Company. He is a graduate of the California Maritime Academy, resident of San Francisco, former professional soccer referee, and is the chair of the Metropolitan Transit Commission’s Regional Transit Security Working Group.
