Santiago Becerra is the founder and CEO/CTO of VesselAware, a maritime AI startup advancing domain awareness through real-time analysis of VHF voice communications. He is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed 100 Ton Captain and a seasoned entrepreneur with a background in video game development, data visualization, and generative AI. Prior to founding VesselAware, he led multiple successful tech ventures as a two-time startup CTO with successful exits. Outside of maritime technology, Santiago has a lifelong passion for the ocean and enjoys sailing, freediving, spearfishing, and surfing.
