Ms. Marisa Brusuelas is a Maritime Intelligence Analyst at the Texas Department of Public Safety’s State Intelligence Program within the Texas Fusion Center and is based in Houston, Texas. She is assigned to the Intelligence and Counterterrorism Division, Homeland Security Unit, and works exclusively on maritime security issues.
Marisa started working at Texas DPS in May 2019 as a Crime Analyst in the Watch Intelligence and Information Program before transferring to the Homeland Security Unit as a Critical Infrastructure Protection Planner. While working as a Planner, Marisa developed an extensive profile of Texas critical infrastructure, for which she was selected as the recipient of the 2020 Michael Schooler Critical Infrastructure Protection Award.
In April 2020, Marisa was promoted to the position of Maritime Intelligence Analyst and in 2022, was the recipient of the 2021/2022 Fusion Center Maritime Domain Awareness Excellence Award. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security Studies in May 2019.
