Chris is the Port Security Manager for the Port of San Diego and brings with him 35 years of diverse experience. He is an experienced emergency services manager with oversight of fire, police and 911 services. He manages the Port’s physical security, and maritime security operations.

He supports the Port of San Diego Homeland Security staff in daily security operations and special events. His team of professionals (port staff and contracted security) work in a combined, collaborative and coordination throughout Ports’ marine terminals and properties to ensure safety and security for the Port of San Diego critical sites.

As a retired United States Marine his primary duties were in the military police occupational field, both enlisted and officer including expeditionary and garrison operations. He reached the rank of Captain before being honorably discharged after 21 years. Chris is active within the Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC), serving on the Training subcommittee. Additionally, he served as a Transportation Security Officer for the Transportation Security Administration. While at the University of Utah, he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS), Health Education and Promotion, Emergency Medical Management, and a minor in Naval Science in May 2005.

The Port of San Diego encompasses various types of tenants and visitors including the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, cargo and cruise ship operations, sport and commercial fishing, recreational water activities, and a vibrant tourism industry. Chris and the Port of San Diego Homeland Security team of teams works diligently to keep the Port of San Diego a safe and secure environment to visit and work in.
