Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Angel Hernández was assigned to the FBI National Joint Terrorism Task Force in March 2020 where he assumed the duties as Program Manager for the Maritime, Rail and Pipeline security programs. SSA Hernández previous assignment was at the FBI Domestic Terrorism Operations Section in FBI Headquarters where he was the Program Manager responsible for the oversight of six field offices’ Domestic Terrorism Investigations within the U.S. Central region. SSA Hernández served as Field Supervisor at the San Juan Field Office and Assistant Legal Attaché for the International Operations Division assigned to Mexico City, MX. SSA Hernández initiated his career serving at the Oklahoma City, San Juan and Philadelphia field offices where he handled numerous criminal and national security investigations. SSA Hernandez is an FBI Crisis Negotiator and served as Maritime Liaison Agent during his assignment to the San Juan field office.
SSA Hernández was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He graduated from the Bayamon Central University in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Major in Accounting. SSA Hernández is married to his lovely wife Irene who has been a great support during his FBI career. They have two beautiful children – Ailina (21) and Angel, Jr. (17).
